About

James D. “Dan” Cowell was born in Nashville, Tennessee but grew up all over the country, and the world, as a military brat. Dan is a 2003 graduate of Auburn University, where he obtained a B.S. in Business Administration. Upon graduation, he went to work managing homeowners' associations and condominium associations in Destin, Florida, and then went to work in banking in Central Alabama.

After completing his Juris Doctor at Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 2011, Dan spent the next eight years working as an Assistant District Attorney in Alabama’s 19^th Judicial Circuit. During this time, he tried many cases to verdict and established himself as an effective litigator.

In 2019, Dan joined the law firm Webster Henry in Montgomery, Alabama where he focused on insurance defense, representing and defending insurers and insureds in a wide variety of litigation matters, including personal injury claims, insurance coverage, and premises liability claims.

Dan and his family relocated to Nashville in 2022 and Dan joined Peterson White as an associate attorney in 2023.
